Title: Software QA Engineer

Location: Massachusetts-Waltham

The HCP Engineering team is looking for a Software QA engineer to architect test plans, design test cases and provide hands-on leadership during test execution. HCP Engineering utilizes a highly collaborative feature team development model that requires deep QA involvement on all engineering projects from start to finish. The QA Team is also counted on to provide significant engineering leadership during the Release End Game phase. Candidate must be passionate about efficiently delivering high quality software based storage solutions to the market.

Job Functions

  • Test case development and execution.
  • Storage, server, and SAN configuration.
  • Test results analysis.
  • Test automation implementation.
  • Participation on Feature Teams.
  • Development of test processes to improve test efficiency.
  • Work with development engineers to drive to closure on problems found, including recreating failures and testing software fixes.
  • Linux or UNIX operating systems knowledge.
  • Understanding of Software and Hardware development processes.
  • Some structured programming knowledge in C, C or Java.
  • Solid problem solving skills.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and initiative to learn a must.
  • Test knowledge or experience with Fibre Channel Storage and/or Network Attached Storage.
  • System administration skills on Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience in one or more scripting languages, python knowledge a plus.
  • Storage (Disk/RAID) knowledge.
  • 1 - 3 years experience.
  • BS in CS, EE.
