We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic and self-motivated Software Engineer to help us develop and implement solutions for our Talent Network sites. These are custom micro-websites where clients can leverage CareerBuilder technology to showcase their own jobs using their own branding. As a Software Engineer, you will work as part of a team to refine and improve site framework and feature sets.
Duties
As a Software Engineer, your main duties will be to fulfill project tasks and maintain current Talent Network sites. Projects are typically three weeks in scope as you create solutions for new products. Your duties will also include:
- Transforming business requirements into scalable designs for an N-tier 24x7 production environment
- Implementing scalable business solutions by creating business objects
- Scoping projects and breaking them down into weekly deliverables
- Developing and implementing bug fixes to code for existing products
- Further refining code base for Talent Network sites
- Testing your work to ensure that code is working properly prior to release
- Communicating with Business Development team throughout the course of each project
- Working in cross-collaboration with other groups and teams on a per-project basis
- Fulfilling special requests on per-client basis, and implementing cosmetic changes that may involve some client side scripting
- Understanding our internal development infrastructure and best practices
- Managing projects and task use to reflect Lean and Agile development principles
Requirements
As a Software Engineer, you must be an active contributor and bring your ideas and opinions to the table as our team confers about new products and solutions. You will need to be a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex technical information in layman's terms whenever necessary.
Additional Requirements Of The Software Engineer Include
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent OR 1 year experience using an OO language as a software engineer
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior analytic and problem-solving skills
- JavaScript and CSS experience is a plus
- Proficiency in at least one Object-Oriented programming language
- Intermediate to advanced Object-Oriented software development knowledge
- Exposure to any Agile Software Development methodology would be considered a huge plus
