VP - Engineering
Frontier Wind is a well-funded developer of advanced rotor technologies that increase the efficiency of utility scale wind turbines and significantly decrease their annual maintenance and operating costs. The senior engineering members are among the most respected and talented in their fields, and the executive management has built and grown businesses worth billions of dollars.
Frontier Wind was organized in late 2007 as a separate entity from Energy Unlimited, Incorporated (EUI). Established in 1983, Energy Unlimited is one of the first developers of utility scale wind power in the world.
Harry Halloran, the company's CEO and visionary Founder, has a deep passion for renewable energy. When he saw the potential for wind to provide vast amounts of the world's electrical needs, he immediately began investing in this new technology. Mr. Halloran is certainly not new to energy production. As the top executive at American Refining Group, (one of the first and the oldest continuously operating refineries in America) he has a long-standing record of success in the energy sector and he is dedicated to the continuous improvement of the human condition through social corporate responsibility. In this respect, he has dedicated much of his time and resources to renewable energies.
The Company's Engineering Center is located in Rocklin, California an attractive Northeast suburb of Sacramento. Many residents of this area enjoy the fact that Lake Tahoe is a 2-hour drive to the East and San Francisco is just 2 hours to the West.
The Vice President of Engineering will report directly to the President & COO of Frontier Wind, and will provide hands-on leadership and vision for a team of approximately 15 to 20 engineers.
Frontier Wind senior management is seeking an experienced VP, with a breadth of engineering knowledge and the ability to skillfully lead this diverse and energetic group of highly educated engineers to synthesize the tremendous accomplishments of 4 years of hard work, bringing their patented VariLoad technology from the final stages of product development, into the commercialization stage and then onto further product enhancements, in response to customer and overall market demand. This VP will become a key representative to Frontier Wind's current and potential customers. He or she will be expected to have the engineering skill, the technical credentials, and the professional presence to confidently represent these cutting edge technologies in our customer's Engineering conference room and in the Board Room with investors and stakeholders.
In addition to leading the technical development / strategy for product development, he/she will be the lead technical salesperson for the product with customers and will be expected to provide leadership and interaction at trade shows and other events.
Senior management will expect this VP to skillfully balance the focus of their high powered engineering team between R&D efforts that will result in the development of additional cutting edge wind energy technologies, and the creation of commercially viable/marketable products that will allow company stakeholders to reap appropriate financial rewards for the millions of dollars they have invested into Frontier Wind over the past few years. Successfully balancing these two activities will be critical to this Vice President's success, and will be a key part of their 12 month review.
