Job Description

Open to U.S. Department of Labor Registered Environmental Technician Apprenticeship Program participants that meet the qualifications desribed in the Standards of Apprenticeship posted on the Program Sponsor's website, the Alaska Forum on the Environment atwww.akforum.org.

The Position is an On-Call position

Available for Anchorage-based office and field work as well as travel to remote communities and work locations as dictated by various work scopes.

Signed Environmental Technician Apprenticeship Agreement. Perform dilignetly and faithfully the work of the occupation and other pertinent duties assigned by UMIAQ in accordance with the Standards of Apprenticeship.

Work Envrionment

Will be exposed to Normal Office Envrionment, Field Site Work, Heat, Cold, Exposure to Dust, Fumes, Gases, Moving Machinery, Driving Automated Equipment, Outdoor Weather Conditions, Industrial Work Site, Production/Warehouse Site.

All Employees are subject to a Non-DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. Employees must pass a Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening, and must follow all Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.

Authorized Driver Requirement: Employee must have a valid driver's license and three (3) year clean driving record. Employee must follow all Authorized Driver Policy and Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage.
