Utility Systems Specialist Level II (Level III preferred) Operator of Water/Wastewater systems for optimization of performance, mentoring and training, in remote facilities as required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Operator performs a variety of duties essential to the operation of a small water and wastewater treatment facility; inspects, operates, monitors, and maintains a variety of facilities, equipment, and systems involved in various processes of a water and wastewater treatment plant facility. Monitors plant operation through visual observation and SCADA; regulates flows; performs chemical analysis and tests; and performs a variety of related duties to ensure the facility's final finished water and effluent is of the best quality.

Preferred Skills/Experience/Certifications

Arctic Experience in Water/Sewer Operations or Construction preferred

Minimum Skills/Experience Required

Candidate must demonstrate a thorough comprehension of Water and Waste Water collection and treatment and regulatory requirements and possession of a Level II (level III preferred) Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate issued by the State of Alaska.

Demonstrate an awareness and appreciation of the cultural diversity of the community.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Micro-Nano filtration treatment experience--preferred.

All Employees are subject to a Non-DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. Employees must pass a Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening, and must follow all Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.

Authorized Driver Requirement: Employee must have a valid driver's license and three (3) year clean driving record. Employee must follow all Authorized Driver Policy and Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage.
