Honeywell Smart-Grid Solutions (SGS) has an excellent opportunity for a self-lead, energetic professional as a Residential Energy Auditor in the Louisville , KY service area. This is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your organizational, energy audit, communication and project management skills in this direct customer interface role. This position entails heavy daily travel in the service area and will report to the Louisville, KY office at the beginning and end of each work day, with occasional but infrequent out-of-town (in state) overnight stays.

SGS is a part of Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS), a strategic business unit in our Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) business. At SGS, we design and implement energy efficiency (EE) and demand response (DR) programs for Electric Utility companies throughout North America.

The Residential Energy Auditor will assess the home energy efficiency needs of the residential utility clients and will perform energy audit assessments to determine areas for improvement in overall energy efficiency. The Energy Auditor will recommend and install instant EE savings measured to home owners and educate the customer on additional measures. The Energy Auditor will present and explain utility sponsored EE programs to home owners and will support Louisville Gas & Electric/Kentucky Utilities with the implementation of Utility sponsored residential EE improvement measures.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Educate customers on energy efficiency measures, methods and programs
  • Install energy conservation measures including: Showerheads, Aerators, Compact Florescent Light bulbs, weather-stripping, caulk
  • Perform CAZ blower door testing
  • Perform detailed residential energy assessments and provide detailed reports to home owners
  • Review report findings and recommendations with customer for reducing energy and educate home owners on EE measures and Utility sponsored EE improvement measures
  • Communicate with diverse customers and establish a strong rapport
  • Work safely in potentially hazardous and adverse situations and environments. Working with ladders, in attics and in crawlspaces is required
  • Ongoing training is required to keep up to date with the Energy Conservation Industry and Honeywell program updates
  • This position is subject to random drug screens as required by the client contract.

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Current Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst Certification
  • 1-year experience as an energy auditor
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with clear driving record

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working directly with customers is strongly preferred
  • LEED AP or similar training program/certification of current energy efficiency practices
  • Ability to work independently, make intelligent risk and safety decisions and achieve program goals
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with timely, accurate reporting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
