The Senior Database Administrator will coordinate and perform the duties for implementation, maintenance, monitoring, performance analysis, trouble shooting, problem resolution, and user assistance required of the SHC database environments.This position is expected to establish and provide oversight for various databases to insure optimum performance, reliability, recoverability, and stability across Production, Test, and QA environments. Senior Database Administrators are directly responsible for providing database availability within SHC defined performance goals.

Responsible for various database administration tasks in the test, train, and production environments. Candidates for this position should have a strong understanding of database concepts and technologies and experience in UNIX, Linux, and Microsoft operating system. Specific duties include administering Oracle 8/9i/11G database instances, Oracle 10GRACand Data Guard, various versions of SQL Server and system/data interfaces as may be required.

This person will work with a cross-section of internal IT personnel, vendors and the management team to coordinate delivery of data base functions. This individual will also participate in on-call support functions as well as disaster recovery execution as applicable.

Bachelors Degree

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Services or 8 years experience as a Database Administrator
