Responsibilities

Peterson CAT has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer who will be working in San Leandro. The Project Engineer will be reporting to the Senior Project Manager and providing essential documentation for new equipment sales of Caterpillar power generation products. The candidate will also provide technical support and drawings to our external and internal customers. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Act as technical liaison between Sales/Project Managers and Customers.
Work in concert with Project Managers on assigned projects.
Work with contractors/customers to answer application and installation questions.

Project Documentation

  • Review project specifications with Chief Engineer.
  • Interface with Caterpillar factory and other outside vendors to gather required documentation.
  • Preparation of detailed Engineering Submittals for complete standby power systems.
  • Generate official correspondence and responses to submittal review comments from consulting engineers or contractors.
  • Preparation of Operation and Maintenance Manuals and other close-out documents as may be required.
    Database development and maintenance
  • Project Details Database
  • Sales and Engineering Literature Database
  • Maintain and revise the Peterson Power Drawing Database
  • Maintain and update the CAT Drawings Database.
  • Support Marine and Industrial engine sales in the same capacity as called for.

  • Job Requirements

  • Must have a college degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must possess good verbal, written and analytical skills.
  • This position requires a proficient working knowledge of relevant computer systems and software (AutoCad, Inventor, Solidworks and Adobe Acrobat).
  • Pro-active thinking and time management are highly valued attributes.
