Position Summary

Performs medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Following training and competency assessment, performs point of care testing as required.

Licensure, Registration, Certifications

Medical Technologist (MT) or Department (H,M,C or BB) certified by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or equivalent. New graduates must obtain certification within one year of graduation or date of hire.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related field with successful completion of a NAACLS approved School of Medical Technology.

Experience

None. Prefer one-year experience in an acute care hospital laboratory.
