Landscape Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary: Responsible for ensuring that clients expectations for site maintenance and service are being met or exceeded by managing, coordinating and monitoring the performance of the maintenance crew(s) assigned.
1) Quality Control Of Job Site
- Conduct before and after inspections of site
- Make determination on feasibility and timing of customer requests
- Perform pruning and weed control and other operations as needed
- Identify insect and disease issues and report to Superintendent
- Report turf and tree stress to Superintendent
- Handle basic Irrigation tasks such as setting and checking clocks, reporting any damage and some repair
- Assist crew in completion of required tasks
2) Employee Supervision
- Oversee proper safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment usage and practices of crew
- Conduct on the job training
- Prioritize the days work list and assign duties to crew members
- Begin to develop working knowledge of production planning and scheduling
3) Client Communication
- Proactively address questions or issues
- Review site with client
- Update client on status of site
- Suggest improvements
4) Administrative Duties
- Complete timesheets
- Complete paperwork on any accidents and report them to management
- Complete weekly vehicle reports
- Perform chemical inventory
- Perform equipment inventory
- Track budgeted vs. actual hour on job mix daily on Branch calendar/wall chart
- Communicate budgeted vs. actual hours plan with Superintendents
- Assist in monthly scheduling meeting
- Assist in new site take off estimates
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Perform minor equipment repairs such as pull cord replacement, spark plug replacement, belt repair, and tension adjustment
Education And/Or Experience
2 or 4 year degree in a Landscape related or Business related field or equivalent experience.
Length/Kind Of Experience
Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience in Landscape maintenance.
Must Be Able To
drive, pass DOT physical, and obtain CDL license if necessary
carry up to 30 lbs
use various mowers
leverage 50 lbs of a walk behind mower over curbs
walk 2 - 10 miles a day
stoop, stand and bend for up to 9 hours or more a day
lift branches and limbs
grip and squeeze repeatedly (to prune)
use hand saw
push and/or pull various tools, products or items
Technical Skills
Must be able to operate various lawn care machinery including mowers, edgers, back pack blowers.
Possess valid drivers license and, if required, a CDL license
Knowledge Skills
Plant and turf identification and care, including disease and insect knowledge
