CHEMIST
Provide technical support for various environmental remediation and monitoring projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing chemistry support in sample and data management, laboratory subcontract management, field sampling, establishment of data quality objectives (DQOs), development of work plans, sampling, & quality assurance project plans, data quality assessment, and report writing. Should be available during non-regular business days/hours for project support. Must be willing to travel to remote locations across Alaska for fieldwork. No relocation assistance.0-2 years experience, BS or MS degree in Chemistry or scientific discipline. Experience preferred in environmental sciences including: work plan, sampling & data quality assurance plans development; developing data quality objectives (DQOs); familiarity of environmental methods for collecting environmental & hazardous waste samples; data management; data quality review; field screening & sampling; and knowledge of hazardous materials use, storage & shipping requirements. Environmental analytical laboratory experience, field sampling, and a familiarity with AFCEE, USACE, FAA, or other government agency programs is a plus. Proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications is a must. Technical writing ability. The ideal candidate will be well organized and detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills, and will have the ability to transition quickly between projects based on tight schedule deadlines
