Job Details

Summary: Functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in private office setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients. Provides office coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority. Supervises private office clinical personnel as needed.

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved accredited school of nursing or physician assistant program; Masters of Science in Nursing or as a Physician Assistant required. Minimum two years pediatric nursing experience, or 2 years experience as FNP, in primary or acute care setting preferred. Current licensure to practice professional nursing or as a physician assistant in the state of Texas. Recognition from the State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse or recognition from the State Board of Medical Examiners as a Physician Assistant. Certification as a Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Current certification in Basic Life Support. Current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.Bilingual spanish speaking needed for this position.
