Summary

On behalf of our client, Belcan has been given opportunity to source new talent to add to their division. Our client is a pioneer in the tire recycling industry and continues to be dedicated to promoting and supporting the green industries, through their innovative and forward thinking recycling solutions. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to increase their market share through design and continuous improvement to existing equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following

  • Develop designs of highly complex machines using solid engineering skills with attention to details and with a good working knowledge of a diverse spectrum of materials and manufacturing processes.

  • Maintain technical coordination with the Engineering staff and other departments, including, but not limited to, Production, Purchasing, Sales and Customer Service
    • Support production personnel in the resolution of manufacturing/testing challenges.

  • Prepare a wide variety of detail and assembly drawings as required for manufacturing.
    • Utilize information obtained from specifications, layout drawings, and instructions furnished by Supervisor to generate appropriate designs.

  • Perform a variety of calculations to substantiate designs and show necessary design details, section views, and dimensions on production drawings.
    • Provide Manufacturing/Production with prints of completed drawings.

    Position Requirements

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering from accredited College or University.

  • Minimum of 5 years mechanical design experience with emphasis on heavy-duty size reduction equipment.
    • Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes in a low to medium quantity production rate.
    Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and manuals.

    • Proven presentation skills.

  • Customer interaction and management skills.
    • Knowledge of various industry specific software packages; AutoCAD, Solid WORKS, COSMOS.

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Preferred Skills

    • Background in dealing with Heavy Industrial equipment.

  • Hamper mills, grinder mills, or cracker mills
    • Industrial Waste and/or shredding
