Aerotek is seeking an experienced and Licensed Civil/Structural Engineer to join a dynamic team that focuses on rigging systems and heavy transport for large industrial and construction projects.
Responsibilities
Develop calculations for heavy lift rigging systems, primarily steel structures involving dynamic and static loading conditions and high grade steel materials.
Incorporate manufactured equipment such as hydraulic jacking systems or gear driven equipment into rigging lifting methods.
Prepare detailed method procedures for the erection, operation and disassembly of rigging lifting systems.
Direct and supervise CAD operators with the drawings of rigging and lifting systems.
Perform field engineering activities as necessary in accordance with approved field engineering and field change control procedures.
Assist field operations and labor with interpreting information on engineering procedures, drawings, and sketches.
Prepare design drawings, calculations, analyses and technical specification sections of equipment and purchase orders for the purchase and/or fabrication of special design items of equipment.
Provide technical expertise on location, as requested, to verify that engineering requirements are satisfied prior to major lifts.
Coordinate with project management and field personnel for document control and flow.
Supervise field modifications necessary to supplement or revise existing procedures and drawings in accordance with field engineering and field change control procedures.
Advise Quality Assurance of upcoming activities, and items that affect quality, including the resolution of discrepancies and non-conformance.Qualifications
Engineering school graduate with BSCE and structural emphasis highly desirable.
Professional Engineering Registration preferred.
AutoCAD experience and capabilities is a must and prior exposure to Inventor would be beneficial.
Experienced in crane and rigging operations a plus. Strong background in structural design with a good working knowledge of rigging equipment, tools and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as design codes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
Ability to write reports and correspondence of a technical and/or non-technical nature.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees and management.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Must be willing and able to travel to and work at Jobsite locations periodically throughout the year at least 25% of the time.
