Job Description

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship) with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications. Facility is a non-tobacco product use site and employees are subject to random drug screens.

Duties

Responsible for performing nuclear criticality safety analyses and developing the safety basis for fissile material operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Develop computer models to demonstrate compliance with NRC license limits during normal operating conditions and process upsets. Establish limits and controls for plant activities to maintain safe operations. Participate in integrated safety analyses by evaluating accident scenarios and identifying items relied on for Safety to prevent a potential criticality. Participate in special assignments such as audits, incident investigations, and design reviews.

Education/Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences required.
One year minimum Nuclear Criticality Safety experience required.
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely with oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, flexible and capable of working on multi-tasks with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
Ability to follow medium to complex written and verbal instructions and procedures.
