Job Description

Job Summary:The Service Manager assists in the direction and coordination of activities of the Door Center.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Assists in coordinating assembly, work schedules (including temporary personnel as needed), and warehousing operations to ensure service leads are met
  • Assists in establishing operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory
  • Monitor production to ensure satisfactory levels as well as customer service levels are being met
  • Ensures that corporate programs regarding safety, security, care of equipment and facility, etc., are followed, ensures OSHA compliance
  • Ensures the availability of parts required for warehouse assembly and production by coordinating with the General Manager
  • Inspects warehouse facilities and equipment and recommends changes in allocation of space and storage procedures to General Manager
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and schedules needed maintenance
  • Investigates customers' complaints involving such matters as damaged items, overcharges, and delay in shipment, and confers with General Manager on necessary adjustment
  • Assists with meeting weeks of inventory, scrap and damage goals
  • Responsible for an injury-free” workplace
  • Assist in the development of an annual Individual Development Plan (IDP) and meet all training targets as spelled out in the IDP and by corporate goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination for operation of hand/power tools
  • Extended time on feet, walking distances up to 200 feet
  • Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying and lifting (up to 50 pounds)

  • Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
  • College education or related experience
  • Organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Valid drivers license
  • Good supervisory, leadership and motivational skills
  • PC / Windows skills
  • Mechanical aptitude / power tools
