Description

Performs duties relating to the processing of mortgage loans including reviewing file upon receipt. Ensures that ll required documentation/disclosures have been or are properly requested in pursuant to AZSTCU, investor, State and Federal regulatory requirements. Provides members, loan officers, and realtors with effective communication concerning file status and service. Ensures that the appropriate credit decision is made after validating system input into AUS, based on stated limits.

Duties

  • Obtains all necessary documentation to process a mortgage loan for submission to underwriting system. Validates loan officer's data input. If borrower upfront had provided documentation, analyses all credit, income, and deposit information as specified by AUS system.
  • Interacts with loan officers, members, realtors, and other vendors to follow-up on documentation and information.
  • Reviews incoming documents to ensure accuracy and completeness. Resubmits in AUS, reviews conditions and communicates additional documentation or requirements to Member if necessary. If loan decision has changed outside set limits, presents file to underwriter for further consideration.
  • Examines and approves exceptions on preliminary title report to clear title.
  • Orders, reviews and resolves any appraisal issues with vendor or with the assistance of the Processing Supervisor.
  • Based on underwriter's decisions and conditions obtains additional information for documentation to either resubmit loan to underwriting, or prepare the loan closing.
  • Communicates the loan decision to the members, realtor and any other appropriate party.
  • Answers complex questions involving the processing of loans.
  • Assists in the development and training of other staff members in processing.
  • Monitors assigned pipeline and report backlog, capacity and conflicts to the assigned supervisor or manager.
  • Keeps current of all policy procedures, regulations and programs.

  • Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of 3+ years mortgage processing experience. Expertise in conventional, and construction loan documentation. Excellent written and communications skills. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
