The position of Engineering Business Excellence Senior Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis and support pertaining to overall engineering spend profiles for CFE, CuFE, engineering overheads and staffing requirements for both PC&SS and Aircraft Systems. This position will report directly to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis for engineering. This is a high visibility position as it will have daily interactions with Executive Aircraft Systems and PC&SS leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
Review actual results on a weekly and monthly basis and preparation of various
reports, financial metrics and analysis from respective results.
Participation in the preparation of the Central Engineering Groups, monthly and periodic forecasting and planning to include overhead structures, central project budgets, as well as manpower planning. To partner with strategic business units to ensure manpower plans are aligned with financial plans.
Conduct organizational analyses to maximize overall organizational capability. To support broad business growth strategies through the gap analysis of current engineering skills assessments versus future needs.
Perform detailed review of leadership development, knowledge management, and headcount/employment data to identify productivity opportunities and optimize the deployment and development of engineering resources.
Own the reporting of headcount for the engineering pool and consolidate reporting for all UTAS SBU's.
Create and maintain the standard work across all SBU's around the manpower planning process. To also include the review and development of standard manpower planning tools to be utilized across all SBU's within UTAS.
Manage Tiger resource management/EVMS tool.
Support the Manager of Engineering Finance in the preparation of all required engineering presentations both internal and external.
Will need to work cross functionally with Engineering Leadership teams, Finance Managers and HR managers
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
Master's degree (MBA) preferred
5-8 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting
Strong GAAP knowledge
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience with financial
statement analysis and financial metrics
Aerospace industry experience would be considered an asset
Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems: (JDE, SAP, Hyperion)
Expert proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
Job specific competencies to include: ethics, customer focus, functional/
technical, business innovation, adaptability, problem solving and critical thinking.
Position will be based in Charlotte, NC.
