Minimum Requirements

  • A 4-year degree in a computer-related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting SharePoint and SQL Server infrastructures.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience supporting IT systems for large enterprises.
  • Working experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Must have strong presentation and communication skills and the capability to address and interact with individuals or groups at varying levels of the organization.
  • Should be well organized, self motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task in high-pressure situations.

  • Scope

    The Systems Engineer provides senior engineering and operational support for SharePoint and SQL Server systems supporting 50,000 users worldwide. The Systems Engineer will work with other engineers, developers, architects and management to provide support for multiple Sharepoint environments, SQL Server instances, and other related infrastructure systems including Active Directory, Exchange, Lync, and Symantec Enterprise Vault.

    On a day-to-day basis the Engineer will be responsible for operating, maintaining, securing and optimizing URS SharePoint and SQL Server systems to ensure they are running optimally and with minimal downtime.

    Responsibilities

  • Implementation of SharePoint and SQL Server systems based on business requirements.
  • Administration of SharePoint 2010 and 2013 farms including:
  • Availability and performance.
  • Monitoring and reporting.
  • Farm security.
  • System maintenance, backups and patches.
  • Administration of SQL Server 2005 and 2008 instances including:
  • Availability and performance.
  • Cluster administration.
  • Monitoring and reporting.
  • System security.
  • System maintenance, backups and patches.
  • Manage projects and tasks associated with assigned systems including upgrades, system enhancements and global deployments.
  • Assist other teams with infrastructure designs for new applications.
