  • Must have the ability to use software toolsets: Creator, Terra Vista, Adobe Photoshop, and
  • At least 1 of the 5 years of experience working with industrial standard OpenFlight™ and OpenGL™ standard
  • Knowledge in image generation runtime applications and display
  • Requires working knowledge of Word (word processing); Excel (spreadsheets); and Powerpoint
  • Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance.

    URS is seeking a Senior Terrain Database Engineer to provide superior support services for the Predator Mission Aircrew Training System (PMATS) in Las Vegas, Nevada. This opportunity is contingent upon award to URS of the Predator Mission Aircrew Training System(PMATS) contract, anticipated in March 2013.

    The Lead Database Engineer performs tasks requiring the individual to be involved in the full life cycle (analysis, design, development, test, debug, and maintenance) of synthetic visual database and modeling projects. This position requires extensive knowledge of tools used to generate 3D synthetic environments. This role requires the ability to lead a team of Database Engineers and support customer requirements.

  • Develop synthetic visual databases for commercial and military markets. This includes development of terrain, 2D & 3D cultural features, moving models, and special effects for day, night, NVG, and IR
  • Assist Software Engineers in the development of new runtime database
  • Integration and debugging of database modeling
  • Develop program workload schedule and monitor program status to meet program
  • Ensure quality testing during all database development
  • Analyze and evaluate new modeling database toolsets and
  • Design and develop API tools for process
  • Assist in database working groups for customer
  • Assist and direct in tasking of other Database
  • Assist in database deliverable
  • Create and update database design documents, master feature list,
  • Assist with estimates on new databases
  • Maintain and place airfields/models into the Configuration Management System (CVS).

    Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
