Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four year accredited college or
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Piping Specifications/ Pipe Stress Analysis and Mechanical Equipment
  • Must have advanced level of knowledge in selecting, reviewing and creating of pipe materials, fittings, components and
  • Must have the knowledge in designing of Inline piping specialty
  • Must understand the industrial codes and with the knowledge to create specifications for the painting, coating and
  • Fully understand the requirements for preparing all piping MRs and POs, and conduct technical tab
  • Must have advanced level of knowledge in pipe stress
  • Proficient in CAESAR II stress analysis program, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), PSV thrust load calculations, water hammer analysis, dynamic analysis and design of the pipe
  • Familiar with some or all of the following: ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8
  • Must be able to use PDS or SmartPlant 3-D model review to view the piping
  • Must have general working knowledge of equipment design for Rotating, Static, Heat Transfer and Materials and the appropriate associated codes and
  • Oil and Gas experience

  • Preferred Requirements

  • P.E. License: Alaska PE License is
  • Experience with North Slope or arctic
  • Familiar with ASME BPVC (Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code) Design and
  • Familiar with QA/QC requirements on piping, pressure vessels, welding,
  • Familiar with various types of corrosion control
  • Familiar with Compressors, Pumps, Generators, Gas Turbines, Reciprocating drives, Separators, Filters, Marine Equipment, Tanks, Deaerators, Deydration Equipment, Heat Exchangers, and other Process
  • Familiar with design requirements in extreme arctic conditions of the equipment listed above and low temp material
  • Familiar with DOT regulated pipeline
  • Familiar with selection and sizing of various types of equipment and determining design requirements based on limited
  • Familiar with pressure relief systems and
  • Familiar with above and below ground piping
  • Familiar with Construction and Assembly of Piping Systems both in the Shop and in the Field and Constructability
  • Familiar with design optimization for quick turnaround on critical systems.
