Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from a four year accredited college or
A minimum of 15+ years experience in the Civil / Structural engineering
Candidates must have prior experience in design of concrete and steel buildings for nuclear power plants, including design of reinforced concrete slabs, structural steel frames and commodity
The work involves design of Nuclear Island structures such as Containment Building, Reactor Building and other Category 1 Structures. Candidates shall have knowledge of the ASME code as applicable to nuclear steel and concrete containments and foundations. Candidates shall be qualified to certify ASME nuclear steel and concrete (including pre-stressed) containments and other nuclear island steel and concrete
Experience in Analysis of nuclear island structures (preferably using ANSYS) is required with a strong background in seismic and dynamic
Candidates shall be familiar with the applicable codes and standards, as well as the nuclear regulatory
Candidate must be capable of leading a group of structural engineers and designers for a nuclear
Candidates are expected to maintain regular contact with the project personnel and the Chief Discipline Engineer to ensure adherence to industry codes, regulatory
Candidates must be US Citizens or permanent residents from eligible countries according to eCFR 810.Preferred
Master of Science or Doctorate in Structural or Civil
Professional Engineering
Experience with ANSYS or STRUDL in performing analyses.Additional

URS Corporation is seeking a Structural Consulting Engineer to be based in our Fort Mill, South Carolina office.
The structural discipline in the nuclear power group is currently engaged in nuclear modification packages and evaluations for the existing operating nuclear plants. In addition, the structural group is engaged in the Nuclear New build design work. The work involves design of concrete and structural steel structures, preparing proposals, estimates, modification packages and/or Engineering Change (EC) packages.
