Minimum Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialty in Power Engineering
Must be a registered Professional Engineer
Minimum 10 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in related electrical engineering occupation
Ten years of direct relevant experience in design engineering of industrial facilities including: chemical, petrochemical and power utilities and experience functioning in a supervisory role
Minimum five years of experience in an engineering firm and/or doing engineering work with a company whose primary business is pharmaceutical, oil & gas processing, petroleum refining, or chemical production
Working knowledge of process plant operations (pharmaceutical, refining or chemical)
Working experience in the generation of electrical drawings utilizing MicroStation and/or Autocad software
Experience in the development of electrical power distribution equipment data sheets and electrical one-line diagrams for low voltage AC systems such as Switchgear one lines, UPS one lines, and DC power supply system one lines
Experience in the evaluation of vendor bids, interface with vendor and vendor drawings review
Experience in Power Cable and basic electrical power distribution equipment sizing calculations
Working experience with IEC and NEC codes
Experience in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) on Power Distribution equipment such as UPS, Battery and Battery charger or other basic electrical apparatus
Working experience in the handling of project cable and wiring utilizing computerized cable management system
Working experience in the handling of electrical power & control and instrument circuits on projects utilizing computerized Circuit Design Sheet (Cable Block Diagrams) method and approach
Working experience in heavy industries such as Power, Oil and Gas
Experience with the application of SmartPlant Electrical software by Intergraph
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for doing routine calculations
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience in business development and marketing of engineering services
Ability to travel to field project locations to meet with clients, perform new project walk-downs, and climb stairs at these locations
Ability to perform the detailed work and provide direction to staff

Due to our growth, the Process Engineering Business Line of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented hands on Electrical Engineering Manager / Sr. Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Morrisville , NC office. We seek applications from talented engineers with significant experience in Process Engineering. As Lead Electrical Engineer/ Electrical Engineering Manager in our Morrisville office, you will undertake process engineering design and management activities. At this level, you will provide leadership and mentorship to other engineers within the team and you will also have direct contact with clients and contractors. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career in the design and construction of chemical and pharmaceutical capital projects. This position will assist and support Process Engineering for all types of projects. The assignments contain specific tasks on assigned projects, and the individual is expected to use his education and intelligence to resolve the engineering problems and tasks assigned. These will range from retrofits and modification to existing manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
Coordinates project electrical engineering activities with that of other disciplines; assumes in charge" responsibility for verifying electrical engineering documents comply with applicable state laws/regulations, including affixing registered engineer seal when required; assists senior electrical SDE or the Project Engineering Manager in the establishment and control of discipline budget and schedule to meet project requirements
Directs the preparation of circuit design sheets (Cable Block Diagrams) for electrical and mechanical equipment and systems; electrical power distribution apparatus specifications and reviews vendor drawings; circuit schedule including cable routing
Performs electrical engineering calculations on as needed basis such as power cable sizing, and basic equipment/system load sizing for UPS and DC power supply systems
Prepares electrical one-line diagrams and data sheets for various electrical equipment
Directs the preparation of or prepares if needed, the procurement specifications, material requisitions and perform technical bid analysis
Applies knowledge of project change control process to identify potential changes that may impact the electrical discipline budget and schedule
Interface with client reviews and comments
Organizes and leads the electrical CAE effort in the utilization of SmartPlant Electrical software on projects
Functions as SmartPlant Electrical administrator/specialist for the company
May be assigned as liaison electrical engineer between the Morrisville office with the company's other offices in the execution of work shared projects
Consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on his/her technical interpretations and advice
Applies specialized knowledge and shares expertise to colleagues
Responsible for team management planning, organizing, controlling, reporting and leading
Develops operating and growth plans, including staffing
Determines workload for their team, including short-, medium- and long-term business goals and objectives
Maintains effective communication within the team and with clients
Identifies, analyzes and addresses the root causes of both personnel and project issues
Tracks and reports on the team's monthly financial performance, sales and backlog; may analyze and recommend corrective actions
Prepares monthly financial reports and attends status meetings
Reviews and submits for approval the team's expenditures, including conference and professional activity approval requests
Performs administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services
