Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Hospice Nursing Assistant
Job Responsibilities
As a Hospice Nursing Assistant you will assist patient with or provide personal hygiene activities as well as provide physical assistance in patient transfer, positioning and ambulating. You will assist patients with prescribed exercises per the direction of appropriate professional personnel. In this role, you will provide homemaker services to include meal preparation, assistance with eating, patient laundry and routine household duties as related to a safe and comfortable environment for the patient. You are responsible for reinforcing instructions/teaching to patient or family regarding care. You will also be responsible for reporting any changes in the patients condition or needs to the Registered Nurse or Patient Care Manager.
Additional Responsibilities For The Hospice Nursing Assistant Will Include
- Obtain and record the patients vital signs and weight as instructed by the nurse
- Changes patients bed linens
- Clean and maintain equipment and supplies
- Document services provided
- Attend twelve hours of in-services annually as provided by the company
Additional Requirements For The Hospice Nursing Assistant Will Include
- High School Diploma OR GED
- Licensed by the state; CNA
- The ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- A clear criminal background check
- Proficient in English and strong communication skills
- The ability to perform the physical duties of the position; stoop and bend, lift and carry at least 25 pounds
- Able to travel to prospective patients residences
- Must have reliable transportation, current auto insurance and drivers license
