This full-service with offices all over the world is looking to grow its Chicago presence. LITIGATION LEGAL SECRETARY WILL HAVE EXPOSURE TO ALL TYPES OF CASES: regulatory, energy, commodities, securities and venture capital. This firms clients range from Fortune 100 companies to medium and small corporations, financial institutions and leveraged buyout and venture capital firms. LITIGATION LEGAL SECRETARY MUST HAVE A CAN DO ATTITUDE, BE ABLE TO WORK OVERTIME AND HAVE A FLEXIBLE ATTITUDE! experience with E-FILINGS IS A MUST! The Legal Secretary provides legal and administrative assistance to a group of Attorneys by performing complex and specialized secretarial and clerical tasks and provides back-up assistance to other members of a specific team when necessary. This position requires a professional, highly motivated, organized individual capable of functioning in a fast-paced, challenging legal environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively as a team are also required. Reports directly to the Secretarial Manager. On a day-to-day basis, works primarily under the direction of two partners. In addition, works in a team situation with other Legal Secretaries to most effectively and efficiently meet Firm/client needs.
Job Responsibilities Include
Uses word processing and document management software (Microsoft Office 2007, including PowerPoint & Excel, Workshare Compare, DMS, etc.) to prepare and revise, format and finalize a wide variety of documents, including correspondence, memoranda, and legal materials. In conjunction with the preparation of such documents, the Legal Secretary/Assistant is responsible for proofreading, correctly formatting and questioning any inconsistencies in all materials. Transcribes dictation, minutes of meetings or taped records of conferences and meetings.
Processes conflict checks, expense reports, screens telephone calls, schedules conference calls, coordinates and schedules travel arrangements through web-based application; maintains attorney/legal assistant calendars (Lotus Notes Calendars). Conducts internet research as directed by attorneys.
Interacts on a daily basis with clients and staff.

MS Word and formatting documents with a minimum typing speed of 55+ words per minute required. PowerPoint and Excel experience are also strongly preferred.
