Are you an accomplished Oracle DBA who enjoys serving as technical lead and mentor? This position could either be a senior-level or mid-level DBA responsible for the accessibility, performance tuning, capacity planning, data replication, and maintenance for Tractor Supply Company's database environments. This position ensures the availability and recoverability of the various database environments used.

Primary Duties

  • Plans and executes internal DBA projects
  • Troubleshoots performance issues and provides options to development teams
  • Implements, monitors, and tests backup operations for database systems
  • Implements and monitors high availability and disaster recovery environments for database systems
  • Installs, clones, migrates, and upgrades database environments adhering to DBA team standards
  • Trains and provides guidance to junior members of the DBA team
  • Audits and remediates compliance of database systems
  • Monitors and plans for database space utilization and growth
  • Provides 24x7 on-call support
Secondary Duties:

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 3 to 5 years experience (mid-level) in Oracle relational database management systems and Unix scripting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in UNIX preferred.

Working Conditions

Individuals in this position will encounter ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in any typical office environment. Individuals may need to sit at a desk or table for long periods of time; to speak clearly and carefully listen to customers; to reach over shoulder heights; crouch or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; and lifting as required to file documents or store materials during the workday.
