Job Purpose
This senior-level DBA/Architect position is responsible the design, accessibility, performance tuning, capacity planning, data replication, and maintenance for Tractor Supply Company's database environments. This position ensures the availability and recoverability of the various database environments used. In addition, we will look for this position to serve as mentor/technical leader and business-facing communicator. Looking for career growth? This is it!
Primary Duties
Audits and remediates compliance of database systems.
Implements, monitors, and tests backup operations for database systems
Troubleshoots and applies corrections for availability and performance of database systems
Assesses and develops long term strategies for database environments
Implements and monitors high availability and disaster recovery environments for database systems
Troubleshoots performance issues and provides options to development teams
Installs, clones, migrates, and upgrades database environments adhering to DBA team standards
Plans and executes cross functional IT projects
Trains and provides guidance to junior members of the DBA team
Provides 24x7 on-call support
Secondary Duties
May perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with greater than 5 years experience in Oracle relational database management systems and Unix scripting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Leadership experience is highly desired. Experience in UNIX preferred.

Working Conditions And Physical Demands
