Civil Crew Leader

Com-Tech Construction is a leading provider of turnkey constructions services to the telecom industry. Based just outside of Indianapolis Indiana, Com-Tech provides architectural and engineering services, civil construction services, tower construction services, line and antenna installation services, technical services and safety training services and equipment.

Position Overview

The civil crew leader supervises a crew of workers on communications and other tower related civil construction project sites and co-ordinates their work. The crew leader is responsible for making sure that the work assigned to the crew is completed safely, in accordance with client specifications, on budget and on time.

Tasks May Include

• Coordinating plant, labor and material resources for the project
• Directing leading hands and laborers
• Directing and monitoring of sub-contractors and suppliers
• Daily monitoring of activity costs
• Maintaining daily record of site activities
• Implementing and maintaining the project quality, OH&S and environmental plans
• Establishing site grade and setting bench marks

Personal Requirements

• Be able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Have good leadership skills including being able to motivate and lead by example
• Be able to analyze and solve problems
• Have an eye for detail
• Experience operating a wide range of heavy equipment
• CDL a plus
• Significant experience installing concrete foundations
• Experience installing electrical service, rebar and steel foundation cages, interpreting blueprints
• Available to travel
