Job Responsibilities


1

Subject Matter Expect (SME) for Leave Management Team Specialists and HR Generalists on FMLA, LTD and STD.

Provides accurate and timely written and verbal communications to employees, Human Resources and Management.

Routinely communicates to Payroll, Human Resources, Management and employee regarding the on-going status of the employee's leave.

Builds effective relationships with these groups as well as with Nestlé STD vendor.

Identifies and resolves issues and concerns as they arise and informs Management.

Administers and oversees the daily administration and tracking of FMLA and STD claims.

Administers LTD leaves of absence claims for salaried and/or hourly employees.

Performs audits, file reviews and tracking of open FMLA, LTD and STD cases.

Provides feedback and shares knowledge to other Leave Management Team Specialists to ensure consistency in approach and cross-functional training and development opportunities.

Works closely with legal, HR and Leave Management Team Specialists on complicated leaves and communication.

Handles FMLA/STD leaves from beginning to end as needed due to overall volume increase of such leaves and/or more complicated leaves.

Participates/leads team meetings and provides updates to group as required.

Serves as SME for mergers, acquisitions and project work as well as any year-end requirements.

Education Level

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Knowledge

4+ years knowledge in all aspects of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Long-Term
Disability (LTD), Short Term disability (STD), and federal and state specific leave laws
surrounding FMLA, LTD and STD leaves of absences.

Extensive knowledge of claims processing and daily administration of all Company policies
relating to such leaves of absences.

Skills

Excellent service orientation skill set along with the ability to build strong relationships within the Leave Management Team and HR Generalists in field location(s).

Strong, adaptive and situational leadership skills, problem solving and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills required to effectively communicate leave processes and issues and address questions with all employees, HR and legal.

Ability to push back appropriately and address day-to-day third party vendor issues.

Ability to work with a sense of urgency and handle confidential information in a professional manner.

Able to prioritize and effectively handle pressure and demands from multiple customers.

Adaptable to change and have the capability to deliver results in a fast paced, high volume environment.

Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint. Proficiency in SAP or other HR/Payroll systems a plus.

Experience

4+ years experience in all aspects of leave processing to include claims processing and the
daily administration of FMLA, LTD and STD.

4+ years leading a team of Leave Management Specialists on a day-to-day basis.

Must have experience working in fast paced, high volume environment.

Other

Keeps updated on current Governmental guidelines pertaining to FMLA, LTD and STD including state laws, other legal issues and industry practices and developments.

Supervisory Or Leadership

Able to provide feedback and direction to Leave Management Specialists as needed.

Able to provide direction to HR representatives, employees and Nestlé vendors regarding FMLA, LTD and STD questions and/or processes.

Serve as backup for Leave Management Specialists or represent Manager as needed.
