The Production Coach reports directly to the Production Business Unit Manager. The coach is responsible for leading and overseeing production and scheduling activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of labor, materials and assets. The Production Coach is also responsible for developing and improving the production shift-team to achieve departmental and organizational goals, specifically the production-based Key Performance Indicators (KPI). This position will help in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure that the teams are focused on continuous improvement within their departments. A coach must ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, accuracy, and efficiency within our Grooves Culture.

Primary Responsibilities

' Demonstrate the ability to lead within a Shared Leadership Model
' Lead and manage a shift of 30 team members (depending on Business Unit)
' Drive results including production reliability, labor management, materials flow control, reduction of material loss
' Champion key initiatives (i.e. - Total Performance Management) - TPM (NCE)
' Understand and lead the Root-Cause Analysis using tools such as GSTD, DMAIC
' Ensure that procedures, policies, and processes are in place and followed at all times
' Ensure that production areas are fully staffed and a training plan is in place for every team member.
' Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment as well as a Grooves based culture that is implemented and reinforced
' Ensure that Safety, Quality, and Grooves Culture are understood by your Team Leaders and Team Members
' Ensure expectations are clear and concise; ensure that personnel are held accountable for performance results
' Develop your team members in technical and interpersonal skills to meet present and future needs
' Maintain good employee relations and communicate relevant issues in a timely manner
' Complete team leader and team member performance reviews and follow-up items as needed
' Facilitate team meetings (functional groups, taskforces, pre- and post-shift meetings)
' Model Ownership and drive ownership to all levels in your areas of responsibility

Position Requirements

' Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Business Management, Food Science, or Org. Leadership/Supervision preferred

' Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as time management and presentation skills

' Ability to implement and execute KPI's and best practices across the production department and among Operations Centers

' Ability to set and manage guidelines for SOP's in Process, Safety, Quality and Sanitation teams

' Ability to think and communicate strategically and conceptually at all levels of the organization

' Must possess high energy level and ability to achieve results through motivating others

' Computer literate - Windows NT/XP, (MicroSoft Office preferred)

' Willingness to work nights, weekend, holidays as scheduled

' Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in supervision / management level responsibility in Food Industry - Consumer Products preferred

' Experience in Continuous Improvement Environment (Lean Manufacturing or TPM preferred)
