As a Sr. Art Director, you will work closely with the brand teams in the Marketing Department to develop the creative execution of a range of promotional materials that may include, but are not limited to traditional printed materials and 3D structure, such as POS, racks, sell sheets and advertising. You will help set the design standards to assure a strong, integrated brand presence in and out of retail environments. You will also be responsible for both overseeing the day to day management of a team of designers as well as 3rd party agencies.

The successful Sr. Art Director will ensure timely pre-production meetings, design approvals, and routing of work, and will be well versed in all development steps and production processes.

This is a senior level position that works collaboratively with all brand leaders and project managers across the marketing department, and will report to the Creative Director.

Duties And Responsibilities

Develop initial concepts, design and interface with vendors through prototype & manufacturing.

Art direct outside vendors, photographers, illustrators, to insure product meets the highest standards, timelines and is consistent with the goals of the project.

Have a basic understanding of alternative display materials, such as wood, plastic and metal.

Provide leadership or follow instructions while working independently.

Knowledge of standard cost systems to optimize profitability on various type of point of sale.

Knowledge of the production process and machine limitations.

Participate in offsite store surveys as needed.

Assist with press checks when needed

Requirements

Minimum 8 years experience in art direction working in environments such as: design firms, in-house creative and ad agencies.

Food and/or beverage/wine/spirits/beer experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Should be comfortable working in both 2d and 3d design projects

Related college degree or commensurate experience.

Experience managing direct reports highly desired.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.

Advanced computer skills, CS5/6 Suite, Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Ability to effectively handle/prioritize large volumes of work.

Possess working knowledge of print production.

Ability to accommodate light travel.
