Responsibilities

  • Provides specialized application support to users by analyzing, troubleshooting, documenting and training for all assigned tasks relating to SCLS's transportation systems
  • Communicates with internal and external customers to scope, develop, test, implement and maintain transportation system changes in accordance with best practices
  • Manages operation software improvements including development, testing, and implementation of upgrades and software releases
  • Writes SQL procedures to insert and extract data to/from various systems
  • Effectively communicates project status reports including foreseen obstacles and possible restraints.
  • Monitors and supports current transportation systems environment
  • Participates in process improvements by providing innovative ideas to increase customer service, enhance accuracy, and elevate productivity

  • Required

  • At least one (1) year of related experience and/or training supporting a TMS application
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server scripting including use of multi-table joins, stored procedures, user defined functions and triggers
  • Working knowledge of the project management life cycle
  • Experience with systems change management processes
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related technology degree
  • Business experience in Logistics including Transportation
  • Systems Knowledge: TruckMate, PeopleNet, MercuryGate, MicroStrategy
  • Strong business process and systems analysis skills
