Healthcare Deputy Director
Responsibilities
Funded by the New York City Small Business Services, the Workforce1 NYC Healthcare Career Center (NYC HCC) at LaGuardia Community College is dedicated to meeting the hiring and training needs of businesses in the healthcare sector, while providing healthcare jobseekers with access to good jobs with career advancement opportunities and training.The NYC HCC Deputy Director will assist the NYC HCC Director with supervising a sector-based approach to business services and workforce development that will match the training and hiring needs of NYC healthcare providers/employers with the abilities and aptitudes of new and incumbent health workers.The Deputy Director will assist the HCC Director with the daily activities of the Center including overseeing the achievement of weekly, monthly and quarterly objectives with specific deliverables. The Deputy Director works closely with the Director, Strategic Operations Coordinator (SOC) and the Senior Account Manager of Business Development and Recruitment.Duties/Responsibilities:
Work with the existing internal and external healthcare industry partners and develop new partnerships within healthcare industry including employers, community partners, and professional associations
Develop, market, manage, and coordinate the services of the NYC HCC to NYC healthcare business groups including hospitals, long term care, acute and ambulatory clinical organizations
Develop brand awareness and services to educational institutions community based organizations and residents, as well as partners including government agencies and local elected officials
Conduct staff development and train staff regularly on healthcare industry practices including in depth occupational requirements, healthcare employer needs and preferences, medical terminology, healthcare trends, and upcoming healthcare reform impact
Assist the Director with the day-to-day operations of the NYC HCC
Directly supervise Senior Account Manager of Business Development and Recruitment (with 9 additional line staff)
Oversee and facilitate the delivery of comprehensive business/employment services
Troubleshoot any areas of concerns and develop strategic action plans to improve performance, specifically in areas of business development and recruitment in conjunction with the Senior Account Manager of Business Development and Recruitment and the Strategic Operations Coordinator
Directly manage the Community Partner Program (CPP) and the Community Partner Coordinator, develop and enhance appropriate beneficial community partnerships to utilize as healthcare recruitment sources, host monthly CPP meetings, and analyze program performance to maximize job order fulfillment
Assist the Director with ensuring the NYC HCC program site is achieving its monthly and quarterly performance targets  and overseeing the program's performance measurements and
Management systems
Utilize healthcare professional experience, Labor Market Statistics Information (LMIS), healthcare industry journals, social media as it applies to healthcare, etc. to inform analysis and develop new strategies to inform Director to develop program improvements and enhance NYC HCC performance
Ensure employer and job seeker services are provided in a high quality manner maintaining all quality assurance and center operation policies
Coordinate, facilitate, and present at regularly scheduled staff and partner meetings
Develop and improve performance management tools, outcomes tracking tools, templates and flow charts to assess progress and outcomes with the SOC
When necessary in lieu of Director provide leadership and supervision to all HCC staff in the business/employment services, training services and intake/administrative services teams, working with staff to maintain quality service delivery
Split internal and external commitments with Director to ensure the NYC HCC is represented at LAGCC meetings, CUNY meetings, and other external meetings and events related to healthcare industry and workforce development
Core Competencies/Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years&rsquo experience in the healthcare industry in an allied health or clinical position, clinical supervisory role, coordinating the activities of physicians, nurses, support staff, and others involved in the health care process or an administration role within a clinical setting
A demonstrated knowledge of the NYC healthcare labor market, target occupations, and subsectors
Master's degree in medical field, healthcare administration, social work, or a related field is preferred, minimum of Bachelor&rsquos degree, BSN or equivalent education
 Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000
