Silgan Containers is seeking an experienced electrician for our Saint Joseph, MO. plant. The Electrician is responsible for all electrical diagnosis and repair of equipment on a given shift. This is a 12 hour Thursday,Friday, Saturday and alternating Sunday position that works 6:00PM to 6:00AM. Individual will maintain, service and repair electrical and electronic equipment in a fast paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming using ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuits to the component level.Must have the ability to make repairs to systems, read drawings and schematics, utilize a variety of test equipment and work with high voltages.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required. Associates degree in electronics or Journeyman's card or equivalent.
Individual must have experience in RSLogix 500 PLC programming.
Individual must possess electrical circuit trouble shooting skills.
Experience in an industrial environment as well as the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, sketches and schematics.
Must be familiar with related test equipment and three phase 480V circuits.
Experience in high voltage is essential.
Ability to install new equipment is a plus.
Must be able to work different work schedules including nights and weekends.
Must be available to work overtime as needed.

Silgan Containers conducts pre-employement testing to determine skill and aptitude levels.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, climb, walk and lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis. Good vision capabilities and good communication skills.
