Job Summary For The Java Developer - Java Programmer Position

This Java Developer - Java Programmer will be working on Government related projects. You will be a member of the Applications team. This includes working closely with architects, developers, and vendors to design, coordinate, execute, and support projects leveraging java applications.

Job Details For The Java Developer - Java Programmer Position

Work as part of the technical team that designs, develops, implements, and maintains web and mobile applications using java programming
Work closely with graphic designers and other development teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of dashboards and interactive web applications
Converts specifications and requirements into functional java application code and works with front-end designers to create functional web design
Coordinate analytical business functions, discovering business rules and ensuring that they are handled appropriately by the business applications
Understand and adhere to industry best practices in software development for delivering high quality code
Is an active participant in software development and software testing methodologies and their effective application
Interact with the business and user community to gather, document and validate business requirements and business rules
Work according to defined scope and time lines and track work in progress
Break down projects into tasks with time estimation
Proactively identify and communicate issues
Work in a team environment with other developers, designers, product managers, business analysts

Experience And Education For The Java Developer - Java Programmer Position

Bachelors degree in Computer Science
5+ years of experience using Java Programming and J2EE Applications
Proven ability to effectively drive change in a highly matrixed and decentralized organizational environment

Skills

Knowledge of Java and J2EE applications and frameworks
Strong experience working with Networking (TCP/IP) and Socket Programming
Strong experience with Databases, SQL
C# .NET Experience is a plus (multi-threading, socket communication, Collections)
Experience converting Java to C# is a plus
OpenVPN is a plus
