Major global corporation producing fuel system components is expanding at 2 of their Michigan locations. They just moved into another plant and building another in addition to having 5 other plants in Michigan. These plants produce fuel fitting rails and injectors. They also have plants in South America, Europe and Asia. Our client continues to invest in state of the art machine tools. They offer fantastic benefits and match contributions into the 401K. We are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to process, tool, support and improve their production machining area. We are searching for candidates with either multiple spindle automatic screw machine or CNC turning experience. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead product launches, troubleshooting activities and process development. Good leadership skills with the ability to lead CNC programmers, set up machinists, screw machine technicians and maintenance mechanics is needed. The Manufacturing Engineer will process production machine tools, selecting equipment, designed special tools, calculating cycle times, develops the order of operations, prepares tool lists, set up instructions and inspection instructions. Manufacturing Engineering candidates with multi-spindle screw machine experience should be able to design special form, ream, recess, step drills and various cutting tools, design layouts, select cams, gears, collets and screw machine attachments. Manufacturing Engineers with CNC lathe experience will need experience calculating cycle times, design inserts, select collets, read CNC code and the ability to communicate CNC processes to the CNC programmer candidates. Both CNC turning and screw machine experience are preferred, but not required. Our client will consider degreed candidates or experience. The Manufacturing Engineer will need CAD design and experience using Windows based software, strong troubleshooting skills on the shop floor are also needed. Experience using 8-D methodology is a plus.

MUST HAVE: 5 plus years of experience processing either CNC lathes or multiple spindle screw machines. Past experience selecting and designing special cutting tools is required. Manufacturing Engineering candidates will need experience documenting processes, tool list and work instructions. Experienced degreed and non degreed candidates will be considered. All interested candidates will need heavy metal turning experience.
