Serve as the liaison between IT and the Planning, Merchandising and Sales business units. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (In order of importance) Business Liaison / Project Management Ø Liaison to Planning and Merchandising business partners and IT partners. Ø Interact with Planning and Sales business partners to gather requirements for system changes/enhancements. Ø Analyze business requirements, conduct detail investigations, & recommend options which are in alignment with ITs strategic direction. Ø Adopt and implement the project methodology as outlined by Polo. Ø Project management - Define scope, effort, budget, resource plan, & implementation plan for all capital & maintenance initiatives. Ø Provide leadership to the IT team on all projects. Ø Conduct status meetings to keep management (IT & Business) abreast of project status and issues. Ø Provide business user support as needed. Staff Development Ø Ensure that the proper resources are in place to execute initiatives. Ø Mentor staff and set attainable goals for growth. Ø Monitor progress and provide leadership on all phases of projects. Financial Management Ø Direct and coordinate cost center activities within departmental guidelines. Ø Control cost center activity through management of staff, operations and costs. Ø Prepare and submits operating budgets and approve expenditures. Ø Work with Business Partner to prepare and submit Capital Appropriation Requests.QUALIFICATIONS Ø 4 years BA/BS degree is required. A MA/MBA degree is a plus. Ø 8-10 years information technology experience with at least 5 years of business system experience in the Apparel industry. Ø Solid understanding of business processes in and around Planning , Sales and Merchandising. Ø Working knowledge of and ability to apply project lifecycle methodology Ø Strong project management and team leadership skills. Ø Demonstrated knowledge of one or more planning systems: Arthur, Maple Lake . Ø Working knowledge of development tools: Java, EJB, JSP, XML, VB, ASP, COM Ø Working knowledge of OS: Unix, Windows NT, IIS, Citrix Ø Working knowledge of relational/multi-dimensional Databases: Oracle, DB2 or similar relational/multidimensional databases Ø Knowledge of Data warehousing concepts Ø Must have the ability to work under pressure with time sensitive constraints. Ø Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple resources Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ø Excellent analysis and design skills Ø Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
