REPORTS TO: Zone Engineering Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for development and implementation of projects (capital plant expansion, process safety/environmental upgrades and productivity improvement) and engineering support activities within their respective zone and assist in supporting other zone projects.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Interface with Engineering, Zone and SHE management to develop and implement various projects related to plant capital expansion, process safety/environmental upgrades and productivity improvement within project scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
  • The Zone Engineer will perform engineering support activities including daily production troubleshooting, assist in major maintenance related projects, upgrading and plant system modifications.
  • Interface with multi-discipline functions including engineering, manufacturing, facilities, contractors, documentation, SHE and materials.
  • More specific duties include: supervision of mechanical and electrical contractors during construction and installation of process systems; layout and design, subcontractor site inspection of equipment being fabricated as well as field installation, verification, troubleshooting, commissioning and start up; daily engineering support to all facility processes including chemical processes, utilities and abatement systems; design and specification of production processes, including development of system requirements, equipment specifications, functional specifications, and P & IDs; defining, reviewing and approving system scope, designs, schedule and budget for projects contracted to outside engineering firms.
  • The job will require handling multiple projects in multiple locations and will require travel to different locations.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are critical.Required Experience
  • BS Engineering degree required and 2-5 years experience implementing projects in a chemical process plant environment.
  • Experience in chemical process plant construction and construction safety practices, chemical piping and equipment installation practices.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • 2-5 years experience with the development, management, and facilitation of project scopes utilizing cross functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, BOCA, IFC, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards
  • Wide range of PC software skills to effectively manage project schedules and spending, Microsoft Office Suite, Auto CAD.
