Work Shift

RESEARCH SCIENTIST, Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE)-Quantum Information and Quantum Biology Group, to join a group that pursues fundamental investigations of quantum information, open quantum systems, quantum control, and the role of quantum mechanics in biological systems. Will be responsible for developing novel methods for analyzing excitonic transport in photosynthetic complexes; and for developing techniques for open quantum system identification, quantum process tomography, and quantum control. Will serve as the lead researcher on several projects, guide postdocs and graduate students, and supervise undergraduate and summer interns.

Requirements

a Ph.D. in physics, electrical engineering, photochemistry, or related field; postdoctoral experience in quantum information/quantum biology; expertise in open quantum systems and the physics of photosynthesis; experience in quantum system identification and quantum process tomography; and a strong background in quantum biology. Candidates with strong interdisciplinary mathematical modeling backgrounds preferred. Must also present a strong publication record. MIT-00007923
