Data Engineer - Data Scientist - Big Data Startup

If you are a Data Scientist / Data Engineer with advanced programming experience, please read on!

Based in Sunnyvale, CA, we are one of the fastest growing startups in Silicon Valley. We are team of data engineers who have a built a platform for exploration (think BIG). We are comprised of ex BIG internet veterans and are dedicated to using the most cutting edge open source technology and methodologies available. Currently, we are looking for extremely talented Data Miners / Data Scientists to push the boundaries of possibilities in exploration by using big data to solve real world problems. As an engineer your primary responsibility will be to develop and scale large backend systems. As a scientist you will explore, model and interpret patterns found in our data.

We will provide relocation assistance-

We are willing to offer excellent compensation packages including a base salary that ranges between 140k - 200k (+), benefits, and stock options.

What You Need For This Position

Expert programming skills (Python, C/C++, or Java)

Advanced knowledge of machine learning techniques, such as logistic regression, naïve bayes, SVM, decision trees, neural networks, and random forests

Advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization

Considerable experience in high-performance or high-throughput computing.

Experience with petabyte scale datasets in industrial setting.

MS in computer science, statistics, operations research or related fields

PhD preferred

Desired Skills

Oceanic engineering experience

Experience in working with data that has a 3D location and time component.

Start-up experience, entrepreneurial spirit
