We have an exciting career opportunity for experienced Television News Line Producers with television news broadcasting experience or financial and business news experience to join a growing Television News Organization located in the Washington, DC area.

This is a part time or freelance (30 hours per week) starting position which will eventually lead to a direct position.

This is primarily a Line Producer position in the International News area and also the Financial and Business News area.

Working out of a brand new Washington D.C. Broadcast Center, the Producer brings a passion for writing and at least 3+ years TV experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deal with breaking news and International and Finance / Business related news and have the ability to jump in and write scripts.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure accurate completion of details.
  • Stack stories, keeping show timing in mind throughout production process.
  • Participate in meetings with staff to discuss production progress and to ensure production objectives are attained.
  • Compose and edit scripts with story outlines from which scripts can be written.
  • Writing and editing the work of others.
  • Coordinate the activities of writers, producers, reporters, and anchors throughout the production process.
  • Segment production including working for and with team of filed reporters.

    Candidates should be familiar with newsroom, studio, line, and field production methods and equipment. The successful candidate would work with a small team to produce daily news and analysis segments.
