We are a privately owned fast growing company in Ft. Worth, Texas. We have unique consumer financial products that allow customers to have greater flexibility with their spending. Due to company growth we are expanding and looking for a Sr SQL Server Database Architect to join our team. If you are commutable to the Ft. Worth area and possess top notch SQL Server database architecture skills, please read on! The position will contain hands on responsibilities that will include evaluating vendor systems, developing frameworks and features, writing standards, run code reviews and engage in R&D with 3rd parties for all database architecture activities.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be responsible for managing the SQL database infrastructure. This includes managing the design, development, implementation and support of database management structures as well as back-up, recovery, archive and migration global strategies. This position reports to the Director of Architecture/ Application Development and will partner with product owners, application architects, DBAs, application developers, and vendors on a regular basis.

  • Design and develop databases, procedures and best practice standards for overall existing and future database environments. (20%)
  • Work with business owners and translate core business needs into robust database management systems. (20%)
  • Manage and participate in assigned projects according to the IT project management methodology, procedures, and processes. (20%)
  • Provide leadership for internal database group while providing growth opportunities for existing staff. (20%)
  • Comprehend existing and future database technologies, hardware implementation(s); including physical, virtual and cloud, best practices for core business requirements related to RDBMS and an overall sound technology background. (20%)

  • What You Need For This Position

  • 7-12+ years of advanced SQL Server Database Architecture, Administration, and Development experience. You must be an expert in stored procedure programming, data modeling, replication, performance monitoring and optimization, and database administration. Candidates involved in ARCHITECTING AND MODELING LARGE DISTRIBUTED & HIGHLY TRANSACTIONAL DISTRIBUTED DATABASE SYSTEMS ARE PREFERRED!!!
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field.
  • Proficiency in database development, administration, tuning/optimizations, and business intelligence.
  • Overall comprehension of a disaster recovery strategy, high performance including database and hardware configurations, high availability including database replication, mirroring, clustering and system wide fault tolerance (data and hardware).
  • Experience with Database design, including transactional processing and analytical modeling for reporting design.
  • Experience supporting global applications in 24 x 7 x 365 environment.
  • Proficient in SQL 2005, 2008 including SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, HA database infrastructure and Windows environments.
  • 5+ years of Enterprise Data Architecture experience.
  • Extensive experience with SQLServer (5+ years tables, triggers, unions, joins, complex queries, stored procedures and XML/SOAP/web services).
  • Proven background with the Microsoft technology platform as an architect and designer of service oriented enterprise applications.
