Senior Accountant - rm

To $75,000 plus bonus, 401k, pension and healthcare

My client is a $billion national healthcare company with a mid-Atlantic office headquartered in the DC Metro. They are looking to expand their central accounting team and have created a new Senior Accountant vacancy. You will support the Director of Accounting in the maintenance of the general ledger. Responsibilities include:-

Assist in the preparation of the month-end close process

Prepare journal entries for review.

Review journal entries prepared by Staff Account.

Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions.

Prepare internal financial reports (operations, trial balance, and balance sheet)

Ensure general ledger and sub ledger are reconciled and reconciling items are resolved.

Review account reconciliations prepared by Staff Accountant.

Work with external auditors during audit periods.

Prepare account trends and perform month end variance analysis.

Prepare monthly financial package and variance analysis.

Prepare and update policies and procedures documents as needed.

Prepare reports for month end close meetings.

Identify account trends and perform month end variance analysis.

Requirements

To be considered for this newly created role, you should ideally possess a BS degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred), minimum five years accounting experience gained in either public accounting or corporate (For profit preferred). IT skill to include PeopleSoft and Excel (pivot table, v look ups)
