Responsible for monitoring federal legislative and regulatory activity affecting the company,the broadband and cable television industry, and lobbying on behalf of the Company. Establish, maintain and improve relations with elected officials. Manage the company's political action committee.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience

Communicate with legislative and regulatory leaders to discuss federal policy, legislation and regulations related to cable television, broadband and telecommunication services; enhance public relationships by frequent interaction with federal officials. Work to resolve differences between the Company and government officials.

Inform appropriate internal business leaders of all regulatory and legislative issues affecting the company; represent the company's position regarding industry issues; lobby on behalf of the company.

Represent the company at industry association meetings and events.

Manage the company's political action committee, including filing necessary lobbying and contribution reports.

Represent the Company at political events and fundraisers.

Coordinate with internal personnel regarding correspondence to elected officials and press releases; communicatelegislative and regulatory developments internally through newsletters and other updates.

Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

Skills / Abilities And Knowledge

Ability to communicate in a public forum and perform business negotiations
Ability to maintain relationships with political officials

Education
Bachelor's degree in business, political science or related field or equivalent experience
Law degree preferred

Related Work Experience

A minimum of 3 years of legislative and/or regulatory experience at the federal level
Lobbying and public relations experience
Cable television experience

Certifications and/or Licenses
Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record within the Company required standards and auto insurance

Working Conditions

Office environment
Travel as required
Exposure to moderate noise levels
