This Position Will Include Developing TWD's In Support Of Structural Systems Maintenance And Repairs As Follows

This position will be at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, and the task will be to prepare and review Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) planning and technical work documents (TWD's) to support Structural systems maintenance, repair, testing and problem resolution process while performing work during availabilities. This position will include developing TWD's in support of Structural systems maintenance and repairs as follows

  • Technical Work Documents (TWD) shall be developed/modified using the Government's AIM computer program and other Navy data systems including:
  • Material research and ordering.
  • Preparing Quality Assurance (QA) documents.
  • Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) & Ship's Drawing
    Index (SDI) drawing research.
  • Compiling Allowance Parts Lists (APL).
  • Reviewing/drafting Submarine Maintenance Standards (SMS)
  • Completing Unrestricted Operations/Maintenance Requirement
    Cards (URO/MRC).
  • Provide technical advice and information to C/260 Division, Shop, Ship or other Shipyard personnel. As required, seek and exchange technical information with off-station activities.
  • Provide Project Trouble Desk support responding to DF/DL/DRs to evaluate deficiencies.
  • Shall shipcheck systems and components to evaluate the need for repairs or removal as interference.
  • Review already completed AIM documentation to identify and resolve technical problems or deficiencies.
  • Must have Engineering Technician background with administrative and/or supervisory experience on ships related to operation of Structural Systems.
  • Must have related experience in structural MRC inspections, repair, SUBSAFE requirements, and safety tag out requirements.
  • Must provide his/her own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

  • Required Skills

  • Must have experience using Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) to
    develop TWD's.

  • Desired Skills

  • Experience in Naval Shipyards in the structural technical field.
    Education

  • Experience

    Typically requires at least 10 years relevant experience without a Degree; 4+ years relevant experience with Undergraduate Degree; 3+ years relevant experience with Graduate Degree

    Requirements

    Requires climbing, bending, crawling, or stooping or other physical demands normally associated with shipboard and industrial repair.
    Hazards
    May be assigned to work in areas where certain potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present. To insure employee safety and health, the Shipyard maintains personnel protection programs consistent with applicable laws and regulations. These programs include engineering controls, training, work procedures, use of personnel protective equipment, and medical surveillance. As part of the surveillance programs the LMS may be required to take medical examinations to assess his/her medical qualification for this duty.
