ALSTOM Grid – Network Management Solutions, the leader in providing software and services to the Electric and Oil & Gas Industry, has an opening for a Software Engineer in its Redmond, WA location.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to work with our new Oil and Gas division as it adapts and customizes our current power grid management package for use in the oil and gas industry to allow client companies to manage their pipelines. You will deliver the adapted application to the client and perform thorough customization of complex real-time applications as you seamlessly integrate the application into the client's current legacy system. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a initiative within a large and established company and to gain experience with cutting-edge pipeline management software applications.
This Position Is Responsible For
- Performing assigned software maintenance, enhancement and new development tasks to support project delivery.
- Assisting in software integration and testing of products.
- Development or enhancement of user interfaces.
- Assisting in gathering requirements and drafting software documentation, such as software design documents, test procedures, programmer's guides, and software maintenance manuals.
- Assisting with bug fixing under direction and review by senior engineers.
- Building more expertise in assigned functions while meeting established performance objectives.
Qualifications
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
General Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Experience writing object-oriented code in C, C , C#.
- Basic experience in software builds, testing, release, and documentation.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
