Key Job Responsibilities

Avery Dennison's Greenfield, IN plant is a 300-person, 24/7, non union facility that produces labeling and packaging material solutions for the health and hygiene and food and beverage space. As our EHS Manager you will be a participant on our leadership team and report into the Plant Manger. You are a motivated individual that will drive our safety culture and engage our employees at all levels and on all shifts to enhance our safety performance and drive a zero tolerance culture.

Responsibilities

You will have 3-5 years in 100+ or larger plants. You will also have direct reports so some leadership capability is desired. We need an energetic, passionate and skilled leader to help drive and be responsible for:

  • Organizing and controlling the EHS functions of the site to ensure that an effective accident prevention program is maintained.
  • Implementing environmental, health and safety education and training to support regulatory and business requirements.
  • Investigating all releases, injuries and near-misses.
  • Managing Job Safety Analysis program and EHS PPE compliance program.
  • Maintaining each facility's compliance records for permits. Reviewing Federal, State and local regulation changes that impact permits and permit compliance.
  • Managing the process safety program to assure compliance with all 14 elements of PSM.
  • Identifying and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices and develops hazard control practices and programs.
  • Managing industrial hygiene program. Coordinating periodic industrial hygiene monitoring of noise, air quality and other IH levels.
  • Reviewing plant incident statistics and making recommendations for correction of problem areas.
  • Conducting periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure conformance to appropriate safety and sanitary standards and regulations.
