Skills Test Development

  • Creates test methods and applies test cases needed to address requirements in a timely manner while following the development and test workflow for the project.
  • Designs, implements, and conducts cost-effective, comprehensive test and evaluation procedures to ensure product requirements are met.
  • Able to design test experiments that investigate and lead to root cause discovery.
  • Works with project team leaders and senior engineers to establish product test requirements and performance goals.
  • Reports problems through formal bug tracking system.

    • Technology Development

  • Contributes to creation/improvement of new technology required to test Consumer Electronics products
  • Provides input to the test team and the design team regarding
    implementation limitations of individual test methods.
  • Verifies new/improved test methods.
  • Skill areas include; Consumer CE equipment, Audio/Video processing, home networking (TCP/IP and related protocols) and web server and database operations and testing.
  • Maintains an awareness of current industry developments in testing of user interface applications, embedded systems, and signal processing hardware and software.
  • Helps identify and investigate areas that have potential application to current testing and verification strategies.

    • Project Task Management

  • Serves as team member or leader with responsibility for assigned project tasks and subsystems.
  • Works to establish test schedule, task milestones, and product acceptance criteria.
  • Estimates effort and reports to Test Manager on progress, roadblocks, and risks for assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for test implementation from initial development work through completion per established requirements or transfer of responsibility.

    • Teamwork And Communications

  • Provides assistance and expertise to other groups and internal/external customers.
  • Ensures test team leader is aware of new major issues.
  • Readily accepts input from other team members.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written skills.
    Education BS/BA degree in electrical engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years related work experience.
