  • As the Assistant Administrator you will be responsible for assisting in the operation of facility activities in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and as directed by the governing board and for ensuring that the highest degree of quality patient/resident care is maintained at all times.

  • Essential Functions

  • Work as an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Team to help to ensure smooth operations of the facility.
  • Represent the facility at, and participate in, facility management meetings.
  • On a case by case basis, you may work in a specific department for an extended period of time. (i.e.: department head vacancy, growth in census or overall department instability)
  • Ensure that all personnel, patients/residents, visitors and the general public follow established policies and procedures.
  • Supervision and oversight of designated facility departments and their operations.
  • Assist in reviewing policies and procedures periodically, at least annually to ensure compliance with current regulations are being continually maintained.
  • Ensure that patients/residents rights to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Keep abreast of the economic condition/situation and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the continued ability to provide quality patient/resident.
  • As designated, represent the facility in dealings with outside agencies, including government agencies and third party payers, or provide an authorized representative of the facility when unable to attend such meetings.
  • As needed, take part in the implementation of written policies and procedures that reflect the goals and objectives of the facility.
  • Assist in the development and implementation (as needed) of departmental policies and procedures, and establish a rapport between departments so that each can see the importance of team work.
  • Delegate authority, responsibility and accountability to other responsible persons as authorized.
  • Review and interpret monthly financial statements as delegated by the Administrator.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator concerning the operation of the facility.
  • Other duties / roles that may be assigned.

    Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or other health related degree program AND have completed an Administrator-in-Training program.

    Experience of at least 9+ months working in a Long-Term Care facility is required.
    You must be licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator through NAB (National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards).

    In addition, a California NHA license is strongly desired, but not required.
