The AppDynamics Information Development team provides advanced technical assistance and knowledge transfer

to AppDynamics customers, partners, and internal engineers. The team produces technical collateral, wiki help

topics, conceptual diagrams, procedural flow charts, and short screencasts about AppDynamics products.

The AppDynamics Information Developer/Designer creates informational materials including texts, diagrams, and

screencasts about product features using a customer-focused wiki information architecture. This is a non-traditional

technical writing role. While writing is core, the focus is on maximizing the customer learning experience

through multi-modal learning channels and dynamic content. The goal is to meet the evolving informational needs of

our customers by providing excellent usability, continuously improved information, and fast turnaround.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality technical information on a variety of enterprise-level Application Performance

Management (APM) topics

Work closely with technical experts to provide useful and accurate information

Use the product demos to become highly proficient with AppDynamics products

Leverage detailed technical email and forum threads to improve the quality of the information

Work closely with a graphic designer to create helpful diagrams and infographics

Collaborate with the product management team to develop tutorial videos

Write concise concepts, real-world procedures, and problem-solving tasks in a live wiki environment

Qualifications

An understanding of enterprise software, platforms, and supporting ecosystems - APM experience is a plus

Focused, grammatically correct, and succinct technical writing and editing that results in easy-to-read texts

A friendly, engaging, and inquisitive verbal communication style, both online and in person

Is comfortable with dynamic live content, rapid iteration, and evolving process

Ability to gather information from demos, meetings, and conversations and turn it into technical information

Requirements

A history of self-motivated learning and desire to improve the status quo

Using and writing about enterprise software - application performance, cloud infrastructures, Java, .NET, service-oriented architectures, distributed transactions

Creating simple and informative diagrams and illustrations to accompany the texts

Gathering information from multiple experts and synthesizing the feedback

Referring to online fact-checking, terminology, and grammar-checking tools to ensure quality

Writing on any wiki and using wiki markup - Confluence preferred

Additional Skills

Is familiar with .NET

Can draw a great infographic to illustrate a concept or process

Can make a how-to video of the product

Has been a wiki or website system administrator

Has worked in software technical support
